Police in the city of Zajecar assaulted a local reporter and seized his phone during a gathering by regime supporters.

Miljko Stojanovic, a reporter for the Glas Zajecara local news portal, was assaulted by police officers providing security for the gathering. He told N1 that he was knocked down by police wielding shields who pushed him against a wall. He added that the local police chief grabbed his phone from his hands and told him to report the assault at the police station.

He was escorted from the scene by the deputy police chief who grabbed his arm and pulled him away with the police chief saying that he had been creating problems at every gathering.

“I don’t understand what I did wrong. I had a green vest on and a cap with the words Glas Zajecara on it,” Stojanovic said. He added that he was not surprised because something similar happened to him a month earlier.
